Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to the use of www.advrajeshkannan.com (the “Site”) and to consultations booked through it with Adv. K Rajesh Kannan, advocate, Ernakulam.

1. Bar Council of India rules

Under the rules of the Bar Council of India, advocates may not advertise or solicit work. The Site provides information about the advocate, his areas of practice and general guides on the law, for those who seek it. By using the Site you confirm that you are seeking this information of your own accord and that there has been no advertisement, solicitation or inducement.

2. General information, not legal advice

The articles and pages on the Site explain the law in general terms. They are not legal advice on any particular case, and the law may change after a page is written. Please do not act on them without advice on your own facts.

3. The preliminary consultation

Consultations booked through the Site are preliminary consultations of about 45 minutes, with a base fee of ₹1,000 (higher for some matters, as the office confirms before the appointment). The consultation is a first discussion of your matter, the options open to you and the likely next steps. It is not a legal opinion, and it is not a vakalath or an engagement to appear or act for you. The consultation fee is separate from, and does not cover, the professional fee for any case or other work, which depends on the matter and is discussed after the consultation.

4. Mode of consultation

Meeting at the chamber is preferred. An online consultation is offered only when the matter is urgent or when you cannot come to Kerala or reach the office. Please bring every document related to your matter to the consultation.

5. Booking, rescheduling and cancellation

Please give accurate contact details when booking. If you cannot attend, please reschedule or cancel through the link in your confirmation email, or inform the office, as early as possible. Payment and refunds are explained in the Refund Policy.

6. Matters handled

If your matter falls outside the advocate’s practice, or belongs before a separate authority or forum, you will be told so plainly, and no fee beyond the consultation fee will be asked for that matter.

7. When an advocate-client relationship begins

Using the Site, booking a consultation or sending a message does not by itself create an advocate-client relationship. That relationship begins only when the advocate agrees to take up your matter and the terms, including fees, are settled with you.

8. No guarantee of outcome

No page on the Site and no consultation promises any particular result. The outcome of every matter depends on its facts, the evidence and the decision of the court or authority.

9. Content of the Site

The text and images on the Site belong to the advocate or are used with permission. You may share links to pages, but please do not copy the content for commercial use. Links to outside websites, such as official sources of law, are given for convenience; the advocate is not responsible for their content.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the advocate is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the general information on the Site.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Ernakulam, Kerala have jurisdiction.

12. Changes and contact

These terms may be updated from time to time; the date above shows the latest version. Questions can be sent to contact@advrajeshkannan.com.
